‘Your career is over…’, when Shoaib Akhtar picked up Sachin Tendulkar and immediately fell to the ground

Talking about the aggression of Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, veteran Indian batsman Virender Sehwag shared some funny anecdotes from cricket. Sehwag shared that once in a party, Shoaib Akhtar lifted Sachin Tendulkar and as he could not keep his balance, they both fell on the ground. Sehwag while talking to a podcast The Ranveer Show (TRS) shared many details related to the Indian team.

Sehwag shared that Shoaib Akhtar was his best friend from the Pakistan team and they used to have a lot of fun together.

Sehwag said, ‘He (Akhtar) used to show a lot of aggression outside the field, if you tease him, he will come and hold your hand very firmly. That’s why we used to keep distance from them while talking.

“Once at a party in Lucknow, Akhtar tried to lift Sachin Tendulkar, and Tendulkar is heavy, maybe around 100 kilos, lest someone come and lift him. Akhtar tried and when he couldn’t When he could, he pulled him up and both fell on the ground,” said Virender Sehwag while talking to podcast TRS.

Sehwag said that after this Akhtar was very embarrassed and we also threatened him that we will complain to the Indian Cricket Council (BCCI) and they will send the complaint to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

“Now you’re out, your career is over. You let down our top player. And he was scared, ran after Sachin everywhere, saying sorry and everything. Still, me and Sachin, Whenever we sit together, we go back to that incident and laugh about it,” Sehwag said.

Asked about their spat on Twitter, Sehwag said it happens between friends and Akhtar is normally a nice person, but “something changes in front of the camera.”

Sehwag shared our friendship and also helped us grow professionally and he set an example by telling that soon a documentary would be made on India and Pakistan cricket and Sehwag asked the documentary makers to keep Shoaib Akhtar on the other side. Said because they both had the best of the times.
