Mumbai:
A 38-year-old woman died after being hit by a car during her morning walk on Worli sea-face promenade in south Mumbai on Sunday, a police official said.
A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against the car driver for the accident which took place around 6.30 am, he said.
“The woman, identified as Rajalakshmi Raj Krishnan, was hit from behind by a speeding car when she was out for a morning walk,” said an official from Worli police station. Said.
He said the woman was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was declared brought dead.
The 23-year-old driver of the car also suffered minor injuries in the accident. A case has been registered against him under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including rash and negligent driving and causing death by negligence, the official said, adding the accused is being interrogated.
