Telangana schools to have half-day classes from today amid rise in temperature

The schools which have SSC exam centers will function from 1.00 PM to 5.00 PM.

Hyderabad:

The Telangana government has announced the implementation of half-day classes from Wednesday in view of the rising temperature in the state.

An official notification from the Director of School Education said, “All Regional Joint Directors of School Education and District Education Officers of the State are informed that the half-day period commencing from March 15 will continue till April 24, 2023, the last working day.” said on Monday.

The official notification further states that the primary, upper primary and high schools under government government-aided and private management will function as half-day schools from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. Lunch will be served at 12:30 pm.

However, special classes will continue to be held to prepare students of Class X for SSC Public Examination. The schools which have SSC exam centers will function from 1 PM to 5 PM.

In 2022, the Telangana government also announced the start of half-day schools from March 15 till the last working day of the academic year 2021-22, as the state experienced rising temperatures.
