Mohan Bhagwant also urged farmers to stop using chemicals (File)
Meerut, Uttar Pradesh:
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday said change in farming methods is necessary not only for India but for the world and advised farmers to switch to cow-based farming.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader was speaking at a Kisan Sammelan organized by the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh in Hastinapur.
Bhagwat said, “Cow-based farming does not disrupt the cycle of nature. Our farmers are worried. All their demands cannot be met, so the cost of farming has to be reduced. This is possible only with cow-based farming.” “
Calling upon farmers to shun the use of chemicals, he said, “Our land has been plowed for thousands of years. Yet it is still fertile. By increasing agricultural production indiscriminately, we have seen the damage.”
“Chemicals used in agriculture are entering our bodies and making us sick.” Mohan Bhagwat said that the government can change the policies but the farmers will have to do the work of saving agriculture and nature.
During his visit, the RSS chief also stopped at Hastinapur near the ancient historical sites of the “Mahabharata” period.
