Rani Mukherjee’s Mrs. Chatterjee v. Norway Trade analyst Taran Adarsh reported that the box office saw “solid growth” on the second day of release. Played by Ashima Chibber, Mrs. Chatterjee v. NorwayIt is based on the true story of an Indian mother whose life changes when her children are taken through the Norwegian foster care system due to cultural differences. The film documents the challenges she faced to win custody of her children.
Film critic Saibal Chatterjee in her review for NDTV gave 1.5 out of 5 stars and wrote, “Rani Mukerji, a performer of proven ability, is let down by the writing. She struggles to hit the right notes. Tingling and jarring.” As a result, the essence of the character is never fully revealed.
Apart from Rani Mukherjee, Mrs. Chatterjee v. Norway Anirban Bhattacharya, Jim Sarbh and Neena Gupta also played important roles. Film clashed with Nandita Das zvigatostarring Kapil Sharma, at the box office. On the second day, the comedian’s film earned Rs 62 lakh, taking its total to Rs 1.05 crore.
