Rani Mukherjee Mrs. Chatterjee v. Norway Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh earned Rs 1.27 crore on the first day by tweeting. He tweeted: “Riding on glowing word of mouth, Mrs. Chatterjee v. Norway As Day 1 progresses… Fri 1.27 cr (535 screens)… Biz significant on Sat and Sun, needs to multiply/jump for a healthy weekend total. The film depicts the story of an expatriate Indian mother Devika Chatterjee (Rani Mukerji) leading an ideal life in Norway with her husband and two children. Her life takes a drastic turn after her children are taken away from the Norwegian foster care system due to cultural differences. She decides to go all the way for her children. Directed by Ashima Chibber and produced by Zee Studios and Emmay Entertainment, Mrs. Chatterjee v. Norway Inspired by true events. The film has been shot in Estonia and parts of India.
In her review for NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee gave the film 1.5 out of 5 stars and wrote: “Rani Mukerji, on her part, rips it off and the film crumbles on its excesses. Mrs. Chatterjee v. Norway An overheated affair that sucks the air out of an intrinsically moving story that is infinitely better.”
