Rajant introduces industry’s first credit card-sized dual-radio breadcrumb module at PROMAT

Fully Mobile M2M Communications Designed to Solve Wi-Fi and LTE Limitations for Warehouse Automation

Malvern, PA – March 17, 2023: Rajant Corporation, pioneer of Kinetic Mesh® wireless networks, will unveil its new Cardinal Breadcrumb® modules during PROMAT at Chicago’s McCormick Place, March 20-23, in booth #N8550. The Cardinal is powerful, lightweight and notably the smallest in Rajant’s portfolio of industrial wireless nodes. Orders will be taken from next week for this first-ever breadcrumb module specifically tailored to the needs of robotic automation in the warehouse market and Industry 4.0.

Designed with automation robots in mind including collaborative robots, automated storage/retrieval systems, autonomous mobile robots (AMR), unmanned guided vehicles (UGVs, and more), the Rajant Cardinal is your on-the-go platform in the most challenging environments. -Move can enhance connectivity. The Cardinal extends the range of traditional Wi-Fi beyond the limits of fixed infrastructure without any line-of-sight requirements by using two transceivers with a combined data rate of 1.73 Gbps. In addition to robotics and infrastructure in warehouse automation, this wireless node has applications as part of irrigation in agriculture, recloser in energy, PLC control in oil and gas, drones and UAVs in the military and light show markets, and process automation in the manufacturing industry.

According to Elle Walker, Director of Business Development, Rajant channel partner Gray Solutions, “The latest release of Rajant, the Cardinal, will change the way organizations think about lights-out operations. The Rajant Cardinal provides connectivity between systems within a facility. and will be a critical part of infrastructure in manufacturing and warehousing around the world. The benefits of having Cardinal in facilities will not only increase operational productivity and throughput within a plant but also ensure connectivity between systems at all times. Cardinal assures customer that its plant will remain connected regardless of the technology deployed (robotics, AGV, ASR). Installing Cardinal allows the customer to deploy more systems without fear of lost connectivity across the plant and adapt to market trends, scale-up periods and Provides modularity and flexibility with the ability to better respond to light-out operations. Disrupted connectivity causes production disruptions, leading to fewer products out the door, which means less profit and unhappy end users Rta. Staying connected is one of the fundamental pillars of manufacturing and warehousing around the world.”

Rajant EVP of Sales & Marketing Geoff Smith added to Ms. Walker’s comments, “Our latest industrial temperature IP40 dual radio breadcrumb module is our smallest form factor to date focused on robotics enabling connectivity to billions of people through Wi-Fi and Improves LTE/5G. of Wi-Fi IoT devices. Rajant provides extended range by supporting high-capacity M2M communications, which automatically work around physical and RF interferences. We’ve been doing this for 21 years, so Rajant understands the needs of secure critical communications.”

Visitors to ProMat next week will experience product demonstrations, interactive immersive proofs of concepts, a “live” podcast with New Warehouse’s Kevin Lawton and more. Schedule an appointment at the show, or stop by the booth to see the latest Rajant products.
