How to make Rajgira Kadhi at home | Easy Vrat Kadhi Recipe

  • Mix rajgira flour, curd and water in a bowl to make a smooth mixture.
  • Heat the ghee in a heavy bottomed pan and then add the cumin seeds.
  • Once the seeds crackle, add ginger and chilli and fry on medium heat.
  • Add to the flour-curd mixture and mix well. Add rock salt (sendha namak) and sugar to taste.
  • Allow the curry to boil and thicken. Stir to remove any lumps.
  • Serve Rajgira Kadhi garnished with chopped coriander.

To make rajgira flour, you need to roast rajgira (cholai) seeds on a non-stick tava (griddle) for about 5 minutes. Keep stirring the seeds so that they do not burn. When they turn light brown, turn off the flame and spread them on a plate. After it cools down completely, grind them in a mixer to make a fine flour-like powder. Rajgira is a superfood and you must consider including it in your diet whether you are fasting or not.
