Madhuri Dixit holds prayer meeting for mother; Vidya Balan, Jackie Shroff and other celebs arrived

Madhuri Dixit paid her last respects to her mother Snehlata Dixit, who passed away at the age of 90 in Mumbai earlier this week. On Friday evening, the actress organized a prayer meeting for her late mother in Mumbai. Her husband Shriram Nene was also with the actress in the prayer meeting. Vidya Balan and her husband Siddharth Roy Kapur arrived to pay tribute to Madhuri Dixit’s mother. Jackie Shroff, filmmakers Subhash Ghai and Sooraj Barjatya, who have worked with Madhuri in the 80s and 90s, were pictured arriving at the prayer meet. Filmmaker Boney Kapoor, actor Riteish Deshmukh (who worked with Madhuri Dixit Total Dhamaal) also attended the prayer meeting.

Sharing this throwback picture, Madhuri Dixit paid tribute to her mother on social media and wrote: “Woke up today to find Aai’s room empty. People. We will miss her dearly but she will live on in our memories. Her wisdom The positivity and grace were infectious. We will celebrate her life through our memories. Om Shanti Om.”

Madhuri Dixit’s husband Shriram Nene announced the death of his mother-in-law in an Instagram post earlier this week. He wrote: “Our beloved Aai, Snehlata Dixit, passed away peacefully this morning amidst loved ones. Exhausted emotionally and physically. But the love from my family, friends and all of you made it bearable. She was a Saint was: Full of life, wisdom, patience and a sense of humor who overcame all odds. She will be missed, but never forgotten. Her memories will keep her alive for all of us forever.
