DK Shivakumar said that Congress will take action against the policeman if it comes back to power
Bengaluru:
Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar today demanded the arrest of State Director General of Police Praveen Sood. The Congress leader claimed that the DGP was protecting the ruling BJP government and registering cases against his party leaders.
Shivakumar said, “This DGP is inept. There should be a case against him immediately. And he should be arrested. The Election Commission should remove him.”
“He has completed three years in service. How many days do you want to keep him and worship him? He is only registering cases against the Congress. He has filed more than 25 cases against us,” he said.
He said the Congress would take action against him if he came back to power. Elections to the 224-member Karnataka Assembly are due before May 2023.
To come to power with a clear majority in Karnataka, the Congress has set a target of winning at least 150 seats in the 224-member assembly.
While the JD(S) has announced the first list of 93 candidates for the assembly polls, the BJP and the Congress are yet to announce their lists.
