India is set to take on Australia in the second ODI of the three-match series at the YS Raja Reddy Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Sunday. The hosts are leading the series 1-0 after registering a five-wicket win over the visitors in the first ODI in Mumbai on Friday. According to Accuweather, there is a possibility of some heavy thunderstorms in Visakhapatnam, with four hours of rain expected. Although a lot of tickets for this match have been sold out, fans may face disappointment as rain could play a big role on Sunday.
According to AccuWeather, Visakhapatnam is expected to have 77 per cent cloud cover with intermittent thunderstorms between 1 pm and 5 pm.
The humidity is expected to be over 80 per cent, while the temperature will hover between 22 and 26 degrees Celsius.
Accuweather predicted for Sunday morning, “Mostly cloudy skies with a chance of a few thunderstorms.”
There was light drizzle in the morning, but the rain has stopped now.
In the first ODI, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja chased down a difficult target of 189 to guide India to a five-wicket win over Australia.
Australia were bowled out for 188 in 35.4 overs after a dramatic collapse in Mumbai following opener Mitchell Marsh’s 65-ball 81.
India were in trouble at 39-4 before Rahul (75 not out) took stock and an unbeaten 108-run partnership for the sixth wicket with Jadeja (45 not out) ensured that the hosts secured victory in 39.5 overs.
The hosts lead 1-0 in the three-match series with the two teams warm-up for the 50-over World Cup to be held in India later this year.
Rohit Sharma is expected to resume his duties as captain after missing the first ODI due to family commitments.
