According to HDFC Securities, gold prices rose by over ₹400 to ₹58,040 per 10 grams in the national capital on Friday amid a rise in the prices of the precious metal globally.

In the previous trade, the yellow metal had closed at Rs 57,640 per 10 grams.

Silver, however, declined by Rs 430 to close at Rs 67,600 per kg.

HDFC Securities Senior Analyst – Commodities, Saumil Gandhi said, “Gold prices are trading at ₹ 58,040 per 10 grams, up ₹ 400 per 10 grams in Delhi markets.”

In overseas markets, gold was trading higher at $1,928 an ounce, while silver was trading lower at $21.87 an ounce.

Comex gold prices traded higher in Asian trading hours on Friday.

Mr Gandhi said the recent rally in the yellow metal was supported by safe-haven buying as concerns about a banking crisis continue after the European Central Bank raised interest rates despite continued financial stability risks.
