A viral video from Mangolpuri in northwest Delhi shows a man thrashing a woman and taking her away in a cab while another man walking with her looked on. The man, barefoot, can be seen thrashing the woman in the middle of a busy road, forcibly pushing her into a cab and repeatedly punching her inside the cab while the other man looks on without doing anything. The two men then get inside the cab and drive away. No one including the cab driver can be seen trying to help the woman.

Delhi Police’s Deputy Commissioner of Police, Outer District, said the police took cognizance of the video and launched an investigation on Saturday night.

A police team has been sent to the registered address of the cab owner in Gurugram, Haryana.

CCTV footage obtained by the police revealed that the cab was last seen at 11:30 pm on Saturday near IFFCO Chowk in Gurugram.

Delhi Police has traced the cab and the driver and is trying to ascertain where the three passengers got down. The vehicle was booked from Rohini to Vikaspuri through the Uber app. On the way, there was an argument between the two which turned into a fight.
