These tips have been posted on the Instagram page ‘nutrition.by.lovneet’. The nutritionist shares some easy hacks to avoid and overcome stomach upset while traveling. Fight constipation and poop easily with these tips.
Here are 4 tips to fight constipation while traveling:
1. Hydrate and hydrate
We all know that drinking a lot of fiber makes the stool loose and easy to pass. The same logic applies during the holidays, except you have to follow it religiously. The nutritionist explains that “when you’re properly hydrated, your body doesn’t need to take up extra water from your colon, which means your bowels aren’t stressed.”
2. Canker on seeds
Yes, the seeds can help you pass stools. And the fact that they are so easy to carry makes the job easier. Focus on eating a handful of flaxseed and chia seeds every day. You can eat them as is, and add them to your detox water or foods like desserts and salads. “The seeds are a rich source of soluble fiber, which dissolves in water, making stools softer and easier to pass,” reveals Lovneet.

3. Stay away from caffeine
We know it’s hard to ignore that tempting cup of coffee, tea, and especially wine on vacation. But you need to rid yourself of the trouble of constipation too, don’t you? Caffeinated drinks and alcohol dehydrate you, which is a major cause of constipation.
4. Include Fiber in Your Diet
“Dietary fiber increases the weight and shape of your stool and softens it,” says the nutritionist. Bulky stools are easier to pass, which reduces the risk of constipation. Eating fiber rich foods is a good way to keep your colon clean. Prunes are an excellent laxative as they are rich in sorbitol which adds bulk to the stool. Other good choices are raisins, dried apricots, fruits, nuts and seeds.
Enjoy your hard earned holiday without making multiple trips to the toilet.
