MS Dhoni is known for his fitness and even at the age of 41, he is considered a formidable athlete. The veteran wicket-keeper batsman will lead Chennai Super Kings in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) and videos of him practicing at the Chepauk Stadium have already gone viral on social media. Former India cricketer Robin Uthappa, who spent a lot of time with Dhoni in both the Indian and CSK dressing rooms, revealed some hilarious anecdotes about Dhoni’s unique food choices as well as his other teammates. Uthappa in a recent conversation said that Dhoni used to order butter chicken but would only have gravy to maintain his fitness level.

“We always used to eat together. We had a group: Suresh Raina, Irfan Pathan, RP Singh, Piyush Chawla, Munaf (Patel), MS and me. We used to order dal makhani, butter chicken, jeera aloo, gobi and rotis. But MS is a very rigid person when it comes to food. He used to eat butter chicken but without the chicken, only with gravy! When he used to eat chicken, he did not eat rotis. He is very strange when it comes to food.

Dhoni is also known to put his team members at ease and Uthappa narrated a similar story against the former India skipper when he only wanted to be called “Mahi” and not “Mahi Bhai”.

“In the first season, I saw everyone in the team calling me Mahi bhai. I went up to him and asked if I should also call him Mahi Bhai. He dismissed it saying, call me whatever you want, it doesn’t matter. Please call me Mahi.’
