The Tirukovilur police recently arrested a BJP functionary for his involvement in a series of burglaries and house-breaks in Kallakurichi district. The arrested person has been identified as BJP’s Nellikuppam Municipal Secretary, 40-year-old S. Has happened in the form of Arivazhagan.
Police sources said a team was checking vehicles on the Tirukovilur bypass road on March 16 when they stopped Mr Arivazhagan, who was riding a two-wheeler. When the police team interrogated him, he got a roundabout answer.
The police team caught him and preliminary investigation revealed that Mr. Arivazhagan was involved in a series of house breaking-in in Kallakurichi district. Police has recovered three and a half tola gold from him. He was sent to custody.
