AIIMS successfully conducted PG entrance exam

On Friday, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) said that over 33,000 candidates appeared for the PG entrance exam. The test was conducted under strict compliance of the COVID-19 guidelines by the central government. A total of 33,491 candidates appeared in the entrance exam for MD, MS, MDS, DM, CH, Fellowship, BSc-PostBasic, MSc Nursing courses, the institute said.

Staggered entry and low density alternative seating arrangements were implemented following the guidelines. Additional measures such as temperature checks, mandatory use of masks, hand hygiene, zero-contact between students and staff at the centers were implemented and followed in spirit and letter.

Digital technologies were used for registration and verification of candidates and the examination was supervised by faculty from medical colleges and institutes in the region.

The institute said, “To reduce the travel requirements of the candidates, the number of cities has been increased from 60 to 157 and there is at least one center in every state. Based on the choices made by the candidates, more than 97 per cent of them were allotted a city of their choice or within 100 km.
